Furminator will ruin a animals fur. It has razor blades so it cuts the hair. It is only good for hair that is matted up. After a couple of years of using one the animals coat will stop shedding normally. I speak from my own experience..
Try a Zoom Groom sometimes. Its a rubber brush. It's very gentle on their skin and the rubber attracts the fur. The back of the brush can even be used as a lint brush to clean fabrics.

Weird: she says, "my cats do not like it". But her cats did like it. The cats held still for it, they didn't scramble away and several of them arched against it as she was brushing. So the cats do like it. I can see areas that she's not accounting for skin wrinkling/pooching while she's pressing too hard as she's brushing and that's the only time the cats pulled away a bit, then they looked back at her like, "keep going!" So shorter strokes would would better.

Hello I am a struggling artist not long out of a homeless hostel and trying to make a living now.
It sounds odd but I make pet portraits, sculptures and sometimes other things like purses and accessories out of cat and dog hair. I do conventional illustrations, too but the cat and dog hair thing is my special niche. If you mail me your pet's hair I'll make something special and personalised just for you. I am based in the UK though just so you know regarding any shipping issues.
If anyone wants to donate some hair it would be gladly accepted. I am willing to pay shipping costs for white fur as I can dye that other colours for the backdrops etc. Thanks for reading.

Perhaps you sjjould spray it with anti-static spray before you use it. Just let it dry so the stuff doesn't get on the cat. I think these things are good, but I hate that awful plastic packaging.

Furminator isn’t safe. It has a razor that causes them to shed even more. Don’t waste your money. It can also be harmful to the cat by cutting its skin or taking too much hair out!
