What riff is it at 2:59? I've heard it a million times before but can't remember what it's from.

My Squier has fixed bridge for some reason, so no whammy bar slot.

I have a Squier Bullet strat and I had to change out the nut and put on locking tuners for it to stay in tune. It is enough to drive you crazy.

5:05 Is it bad that I actually kinda prefer stock over Humbucker here? Idk, there's something about the raw and cheap sounds of the Squier that's just so damn heavy and dirty, whereas the Solar sounds way too squeaky clean and polished for me to even care…

it would be a war crime to not do the les paul SL (they call it the melody maker now i think). its epiphones answer to this

I got a bullet mustang and I’m really happy with it. It’s still my go to guitar even tho I upgraded to a classic vibe mustang. My friend got a bullet strat and I don’t know how to tell him it sucks so I’ll just wait until he gets a new guitar lol.

You can make it chug. 🙂 I'm pleased with mine, it was cheap and I like the single coil sound after played so many hours with humbucker. Feels like going to vacation for a bit. 😆 But yeah, I bet there are more professional single coils out there, I will may update my Squier's pickups. Or spare the money for my old ages… hell no!!!

Strats don't suck. It's an opinion at best. Personally Les paul's are fucking atrious while the explorer is one of the best

Change the pickup 🙄 using the 2 or 4 pickup removes the buzz

I played metal on a stratocaster for so long that I kind of love the sound of a distorted single coil

They put a horrible bridge, nut and tuners on those guitars. Upgrade that stuff and get Fender's noiseless pickups or a Seymour Duncan hot rails in the bridge position and you are good to go.

Been playing guitar a long time. PRS, Ibanez, Peavy, Gibson. Just bought my first strat yesterday. It's a game changer. Ola mentioned that he likes the sound of a single coil through the same amp – agree. It has a brighter more articulate character that I've been looking for my whole life.

I honestly love the sound of metal on a strat. Different texture

Reply
Victor Davila 20/06/2021 - 15:04

It can be made into a metal machine man but you'll definitely end up spending more than it's worth. Good high output noiseless pups, good electronics and locking tuners and it might sound more interesting in a metal mix.

Single coils are sooooo cool for metal

Reply
Renkei 20/06/2021 - 15:04

i play plenty of mental shit on a mustang, single coils have way more bite then humbuckers, humbuckers were designed for clean tones anyways.

BG Outdoors 20/06/2021 - 15:04

Strat styles are nice but if you are running single coils I feel like it’s more of a 80s metal sound not so much for new styles of metal and chugging

Andrii Motsyk 20/06/2021 - 15:04

One day you'll realize that neodymum G&L single coil is all you can ever need.
Try G&L ASAT Classic or something else G&L

The pickups that come in the Squier Bullet/Affinity Strats are the most metal sounding pickups on earth. In terms of quickness and response, there are no other pickups that come anywhere close. I'd say dimarzio has a lot of stuff thats similar in terms of how responsive they are, but they don't have that gritty twang and tone that the Squier pickups have. Every time I see someone who replaced the original pickups on a Bullet or Affinity Strat and can't get that "perfect heavy sound" I just want to yell at them and tell them they should have kept the stock pickups.

What is that tunning !?

Reply
Kristian Peshev 20/06/2021 - 15:04

I have this guitar and pretty much any solid body with pickups can chug. The chug is in the player not in the guitar. You need to have more gain for this guitar BUT on the other hand it sounds a lot sharper, there's a lot of mids and for whatever reason pinch harmonix come out waay easier on the low strings (just my experience) than with humbuckers. The first time i played it I was like ''Holy shit I can totally use this for metal!'' After I blocked the bridge and I put some thick strings on it actually stays in tune very well. Idk how Ola expects it to be in tune with 9-42 strings in drop D and a floating tremolo…

Hi ola if you put Seymour Duncan hot rails on the Stratocaster with a black out preamp added onto the knobs it will chug and it will be very noiseless

I use 11 gauge strings for tuning stability on my knockoff strat, plus i can adjust the tuning pegs for even more stability
